WE Movement is a collective effort to change the world by giving young people and adults tools of empowerment to become agents of change in both their own communities and all over the globe. In a nutshell, WE Movement makes doing good, doable. It accomplishes this through the initiatives that it has developed, which include WE Schools, WE Families, WE Villages, WE Well-Being, WE Day, and the ME to WE social enterprise.
WE Schools operates in 12,300 schools throughout North America and the UK. Students complete a four-step program designed to give them an understanding of the root causes of global crises, such as poverty, hunger, and lack of access to education.
The curriculum is designed to inspire and empower students to take at least one local and one global action to improve their own communities and others around the world.
WE Families was created to provide a platform for families who want to work together on social causes and become involved in volunteer projects around the world.
It is designed to facilitate the success of the family unit’s enthusiasm for social activism by providing guidance as to how to find one’s passion or purpose, set goals, and measure performance.
WE Villages believes that poverty is not the result of a single cause, rather that it stems from several social and economic conditions that must all be tackled comprehensively. WE Villages addresses the five root causes of systemic poverty: education, clean water, healthcare, food supply, and economic opportunity.
The organization’s vision is to create sustainable, holistic solutions that will remove the need for children to be forced into labor just so that their families can survive.
WE Well-Being is an effort developed in collaboration with the Erika Legacy Foundation to give young people and families the educational tools and resources to promote the positive well-being of themselves and their communities.
The project, which was designed with leading mental-health professionals, has three primary goals: promoting safe and caring environments and relationships; reducing stigma, celebrating diversity, and fostering resiliency; increasing social, emotional, physical, and mental well-being.
WE Day is a series of celebrations bringing world-renowned speakers and top performers together with people committed to taking action to bring about change.
WE Day shines a spotlight on the belief that a better world is possible through the stadium-sized events that it holds across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Caribbean, leaving attendees inspired to create further change both locally and globally.
ME to WE
ME to WE is a social enterprise that empowers people to positively effect the world through their daily consumer choices by selling them products that make an impact.
ME to WE benefits WE Movement’s mission on two levels—it creates employment for thousands of people in WE Village communities around the world and it reinvests half of the profits back into the other various WE organizations, thus increasing their sustainability.
We are stronger together!
