Marc Kielburger is a movement builder, a social entrepreneur and a legacy architect. For more than 30 years, he has helped companies, foundations and individuals bring purpose to life.
He has worked closely with major global brands like Microsoft, Unilever, Walgreens, and Allstate to help create positive social movements. He has helped prominent individuals like Oprah Winfrey, Richard Branson and Sheryl Sandberg develop and deliver inspirational legacy projects.
Along with Holly Branson from Virgin Group of Companies, and his brother Craig Kielburger, Marc co-authored the international bestselling book, WEconomy, a how-to book for individuals and companies wanting to embed purpose into the heart of their careers and businesses. In addition to WEconomy, Marc has authored 11 other books, including the New York Times bestseller Me to We, Finding Meaning in a Material World.
Working with Oprah Winfrey, Marc helped her develop and launch the O Ambassadors program, a multi-million dollar program that connected over one million North American youth at 2,000 different schools with their peers in developing countries.
A graduate of Harvard University with a degree in International Relations, Marc went on to receive a Rhodes Scholarship and completed a law degree from Oxford University. He has also received 10 honorary doctorates and degrees for his work in the fields of education and human rights.
Marc is a member of the Order of Canada and has been named Canada's Most Admired CEO in the public sector. He was also inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame.
As a motivational speaker, Marc has hosted more than 130 live events at major stadiums across Canada, the US and the UK. He welcomed more than 1.5 million live attendees. Special guests on stage through the years included inspirational speakers such as Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, President Mikhail Gorbachev and former United Nations Secretary-General Koffi Annan, as well as entertainment and sports icons including Magic Johnson, Selena Gomez and Natalie Portman. The events included primetime broadcasts watched by millions on ABC, CBS, CTV and Hulu.
Marc is currently working closely with Martin Luther King III, along with the Drum Major Institute, on the Realizing the Dream initiative, in the build-up to the 100th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birth. This will involve the creation and delivery of a series of high-profile national events, an international TV broadcast and student-learning initiatives in schools on a global basis.
